The omega-3 fatty acids, EPA and DHA, are considered Essential Fatty Acids, because they can't be made in the body. In order to maintain optimal health and wellness, these fatty acids must be obtained through diet or supplementation.

The results you may see in your dog or cat will vary based on any underlying clinical conditions. In pets with inflammatory conditions, such as allergies, you may notice improvements in signs such as scratching, itching, and redness of the skin within a few weeks.
In healthy pets, outwardly noticeable effects may not be that apparent, but omega-3 fatty acid supplementation will help to maintain overall health.
Since it does take some time for the fish oil to restore these fatty acid levels, it could take several weeks before you see any results. Be sure to feed it consistently for at least 30 days before you decide on its effectiveness.
Give the supplement every day and don't assume it's not working because you don't see results within the first week! Consistency is key! In some cases, it could take as long as 12 weeks to see any improvements.
